Nasi Lemak
Literally
translated, the name
of this dish means fatty rice. Do
not let this put you off though.
This dish is a heavenly mix of
flavours. The rice is fragrant and
cooked with coconut milk and
pandan leaves. It is then served
with fried anchovies, roasted
groundnuts and an egg. All this
is complemented by
sambal
, a
spicy sauce. Every cook has his
own variation of the
sambal
but
the ultimate aim is the same – to
make your eyes water and your
taste buds tingle!
Eat, Malaysia, Eat!
Beef Or Chicken Rendang
Rendang
is such a unique
dish that you will not find it in
many food outlets.This dish is
often associated with Muslim
festivals and symbolises a
festive occasion. This flavour
of this dish is accentuated with
various spices and is served as
a dry dish. This is a very time
consuming dish to prepare, with
each spice mixed in adding to
the flavour. As there are many
Malaysians who do not eat beef,
a variation is also made with
chicken.

rendang for your pleasure
