Nando’s Art Initiative presents Nik Mohd
Shazmie’s Home Sweet Home
Nando’s
creative space cum art gallery is now in full swing
with Nando’s Art Iniative 2014 Fine Art Grand Prize Winner,
Nik Mohd Shazmie bin Nik Shairozi’s,first solo art exhibition.
As part of Nando’s continuous commitment and support to the
winners of Nando’s Art Initiative, Shazmie had the chance to
exhibite his collection of artworks entitled
Home Sweet Home
at Lot 123, Nando’s Chinatown.
This exhibition is an intimate reflection of who he is and
completely embodies his personality. Everything around
him that gives him a sense of being at home – tin toys, wigs,
costumes, food and his family – is a source of inspiration for
this captivating exhibition.

Le
Cordon Bleu, considered the world’s premier Culinary Art Institute, hosted
a Compagnie des Mousquetaires d’Armagnac dinner at their Sunway College
location. Compagnie des Mousquetaires d’Armagnac, founded in 1951,
encourages the enjoyment of fine cuisine and wines from all over the world,
as well as Armagnac, a world class brandy and the oldest spirit in France.
The objectives of the Compagnie are to foster camaraderie, to promote
culinary art and gastronomic excellence as well as encouraging the develop-
ment of young talents in the hospitality industry. At the dinner, Brendan
ChanWai Kian was named the Best Malaysian Student in Culinary Art. Kian
was awarded a fully sponsored, three month internship at Hotel de France
in Auch, which is the epicenter of Gascony. While there, he will be involved
with the preparation of the Grand Cahpitre of the Compagnie, an event that
draws over 650 Musketeers from all over the world.
COLOUR FOR LIFE
Initiated
by L’Oreal Professionnel in 2002 for The Malaysian
Aids Foundation (MAF), Colour For Life is a nationwide
fundraising campaign to give hope and assist children
living with HIV. L’Oreal Professionnel took an innovative
approach in 2013 to raise funds by collaborating with 5
renowned designers such as
Datuk Professor (Dr) Jimmy
Choo Yeang Keat OBE, Royal
Selangor, Eric Choong, and 26
other renowned personalities.
This noble campaign ended
with a 2 day charity hair cut
drive by L’Oreal Profession-
nel’s partner salons and in
total amassed RM100,000 for
the children living or affected
by HIV.
This year, L’Oreal Profes-
sionnel with, The Malaysian
AIDS Foundation as the host,
organized a Colour For Life
Reunited to revisit and cel-
ebrate this wonderful partner-
ship by bringing together the
Colour For Life celebrated
personalities, salon partners
and the children who are
beneficiaries of this campaign.

ACME SOUTH OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED IN BANGSAR
Boasting
of ever evolving Southern cuisine, one will be spoilt for choice at this rustic
outlet. Guests at the launch were treated to an array of Southern delectables such as
traditional Texan-style brisket, Jambalaya and Blackened Chicken Pasta.
It’s not all about the South here, as these guys also explore Malaysian flavours that
cater to the spicy wants of the locals. Local spices and ingredients are blended with
imported ones to create the unique mix that Acme restaurants have become famous
for. It is the combination of foriegn and domestic cooking styles coming together to
create and recreate fan favorites.
