through the
main doors, I
was hit with
the tantalis-
ing smells of
freshly brewed
coffee and pastries from the Tous Les Jours
bakery, which is at the ground floor of the
hotel. This amazing bakery serves as the
main food outlet for the hotel. A friendly
security guard showed me to the lifts and
informed me that the reception area was
on the 2nd floor.
Tous Les Jours...the French bakery
I got an idea of what to expect from this boutique hotel when
I stepped into the lift. The inside of the doors were covered by a
mural that was, well, really cool. Its not the kind of thing that you
would expect from a 4 star hotel. Not at all stuffy and very hip.
Wolopedia
The reception area, called Wolopedia, was another pleasant
surprise. The actual reception desk was a block of marble with an
intricate inlaid design, and the reception areawas a large space that
had a round sofa for guests to sit onwhile they check in or out. The
most eye catching feature of this area was the wall directly behind
the reception desk. The whole wall is beautifully covered with
bright, vibrant colours of amazing, slightly psychedelic, designs.
Themost amazing thing about it? It wasmade using recycled paper
cups, spoons and containers! Truly stunning!
Directly opposite the reception desk was the gorgeous Wine
and Cigar Lounge byWOLO. Beautifully laid out and lighted, this
roomdoes exactlywhat it’s name suggests. With very comfortable
seats and an amazing selection of wine and cigars, this is a place
to relax and enjoy and some of the finer things in life.
