A pick me up
You really don’t have to go far if you are
just in themood for a drink and something
lighter to eat. The Tous les Jours bakery
located at the ground floor main entrance
serves up delicious coffees and other
creative drinks as well as a wide selection
of signature breads and pastries. Breakfast
for the hotel guests is served there as well.
The breakfast selection included a selection
of cold and hot dishes. There was an
amazing variety of sweet breads to try and
the chef at the egg station was kept busy,
as the eggs are cooked to order.
The WOLO Bukit Bintang gives the
impression of not taking themselves too
seriously, with their tongue-in-cheek hu-
mour, but don’t bemisled. The servicewas
impeccable and the roomwas brilliant. The
hotel also has meeting room and a space
that they call Heartwork, which is where
their exercise equipment is located. This is
one place not to be missed out on.
Our BIG room
‘Our Big Room’ is what the hotel calls the
type of room that was allocated tome. The
corridors leading to the rooms are mutely
lit, with thin curtains strategically draped
over light fittings that are along the walls
at waist level. There are four categories of
rooms with three Penthouse units.
The room layout was quite interesting.
Walking in, the shower is on the left with
the bathroom on the right. A few steps in
leads you to the main part of the room,
behind two sliding partitions. These parti-
tions effectively divide thewash areas from
the sleeping area. There was no bed frame,
just amattress laid out on a raised platform.
Thewhole feel was very Japanese, with the
mattress serving as a modern day
tatami
mat. After jumping around like a poorly
trained Ninja for a fewminutes, I set about
examining the room.
I discovered the sink behind another
sliding partition, with full amenities pro-
vided. The packaging that the amenities
came in were quite humorous. The cot-
ton ear buds had ‘Hear
Better’ on them while
the packet with the razor
blade and shaving foam
said ‘Feeling Scruffy?’
Another sliding parti-
tion revealed an iron and
ironing board, a safe and
plenty of wardrobe space.
A wall mounted televi-
sion and table completed
the room. The showers
walls were embedded
with glitterymaterial that
took having a shower to a different level.
Out there
The central location of this hotel provides
easy access to the best that the city has to
offer. It is across the street from the Lot 10
shoppingmall and a 15minute walk away
from the Pavilion shopping mall. Staying
heremeans that you are not far fromplaces
like Changkat Bukit Bintang, JalanAlor and
Heritage Row, all of which can see to your
