Together For Merdeka
Day Parade
For
our country’s Independence Day this year, fellow
Malaysians sawMalaysia Airlines brand ambassadors
march for the last time under that brand at Dataran
Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur for the Merdeka Day Parade.
The celebration took place just a day before the airline
was rebranded with a new name, MAB (Malaysia
Airlines Berhad).
The crowd cheered as soon as the cabin crew
representing Malaysia Airlines, Firefly and MASwings
appeared and waved their Jalur Gemilang. Prior to this,
all 10 cabin crew had to attend several gruelling training
sessions at Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB)’s Kelab Kilat
as they rehearsed alongside other Government-Linked
Companies (GLCs), including Khazanah, Petronas
and CIMB.
The practice paid off and the cabin crew marched
proudly in front of the Yang-Dipertuan Agong, Raja
Permaisuri Agong as well as government officials and
foreign dignitaries at the Sultan Abdul Samad Building,
Kuala Lumpur. Also present at the event was Malaysia
Airlines’ Chairman, Tan Sri Md Nor Md Yusof.
This year’s celebration themed ‘Sehati Sejiwa’, saw
an estimated 500 participants from the private sector,
with TNB leading the coordination of the GLCMerdeka
delegation. MAS, MASwings and Firefly was so proud
to be a part of the colourful annual celebration.
