If you were not the Senior Executive, En-
gineeringSupportServiceforFirefly,what
wouldyouprobablybe?
I would have either started my own busi-
ness or gone into consulting work.
What would you like to say to those who
wish towork inyour industry?
For me it is important to always work hard,
be honest, learn from others and respect
your peers. Don’t expect to be spoon fed
all the time, you will learn a lot more from
taking responsibility for your tasks and
never giving up. Most of all, have fun. You
must remember that procedures need to
be followed, as many people’s lives are
in our hands.
Have you travelled to any Firefly destina-
tions?What isyourmostmemorabletravel
experienceeitherwith friends or family.
Yes of course! I tookmy wife for a getaway
to Singapore where we visited Universal
Studios and Marina Bay Sands. On top
of that, we also get to to travel with our
parent company to MAS routes like Perth
and Amsterdam. We got to experience the
scenic train ride from Paris that took us
across Brussels in Belgium, all the way to
Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
How much has your previous experience
helpedyou inyour current role?
Compared to when I first started, having
spent quite some time in this field, it has
helped me to become more multi-skilled,
flexible and versatile.
What isatypicaldayforaSeniorExecutive,
EngineeringSupportService likeyourself?
A typical day for me starts by sending
my eldest son, Irham Rayyan, to school.
Once I get to the office, I will check all the
emails, have daily morning briefings with
the teams, and then tackle the necessary
duties.
What doyou like themost about your job?
I like the challenge that is part of the job.
There’s always new things to learn and
do. For the most part, when things need
to start from scratch, that’s where I take
on the challenge!
Howdoyoumanagetoachieveawork-life
balance?
Outside of work, I fill my time with the
family and community activities. Cur-
rently, I am the President of the Resident’s
Association of Daisy Apartments, which
comprises 3,000 residents.
