macadamia. It may sound over-the-top,
but I challenge you not to fall in love with
it after the first spoonful.
The new dishes at Nook@Aloft Kuala
Lumpur are definitely worth a try for all
the different flavours and textures that
make them unique in their own way.
Treat yourself, you deserve it.
Star Quality
The
Peanut Soup
is a must-try. An original recipe from the chef’s homeland of
Ghana, it tasted similar to our local peanut sauce but the added sea bass made it
really distinctive. Served in a silver bowl, the dish is absolutely delicious and will
be gone before you know it. Even though the next dish was written on the menu
as
Grilled Eggplant,
the star ingredient was actually the sliced sweet plantain. The
thick slice of plantain shares the plate with eggplant, spiced tomato and lamb loin,
all grilled to perfection.
The main course was
Beef Tenderloin
, served with creamed spinach sauce,
balsamic gastrique
(balsamic reduction), rocket, lettuce and a lentil cake on the
side. The lentil cake added a different texture to the dish without over-shadowing
the perfectly cooked tenderloin.
Sweet ending
Chef Phoebe believes that there is always room for dessert, especially one as
beautifully made as her signature
Milk Chocolate.
The chocolate cube with salted
caramel layer on top was served with raspberry sauce, potato chips and toasted
