potential, especially to the keen eye of G13
Gallery’s founder, Kenny Teng. Tham,
whose works were part of the highlights
in last year’s ‘Configuration’, an exhibition
that celebrated new talents of figurative
art at G13 Gallery, will be spending a
month in Bali under the gallery’s private
residency program. She will be having
an exhibition together with her fellow
resident in the program in April 2016.With
such interesting works from an upcoming
young painter, it certainly seems that
Tham will step out of the ‘shadows’ and
into the ‘light’.

about “the ups and downs in our indi-
vidual lives”. According to Tham: “The
paintings show different times, the past
and present, within a space. The future,
as we are aware, is unknown to any us. In
my paintings, the two individuals (they are
the same person) are from two different
times. One from the past, the other is of
the present. The present self knows about
the fate that is about to befall her past-self
who of course, is oblivious about what is
to come, therefore she yearns so much to
warn her ”.
Fortunately, unlike the gripping situ-
