I love the sense of family around my
workplace. I treasure all sincere apprecia-
tions I receive from not only my boss, but
also the people I work with.
What is themost challengingpart of your
job?
I find working with diverse individuals
and various personalities is challenging
even within my team. As a HRManager, I
have to be skilled at conflict management
and I prefer my work team to enjoy their
work. However, I will ensure they perform
their jobs as expected.
Howdoyoumanage to achieve awork-
lifebalance?
I make my day more exciting by making
little changes, like visiting a new restau-
rant for lunch or taking a different route
to work. Besides that, I love travelling
and photography.

probablybe?
Most probably I will return to retail
banking and work for branch operations.

to share for thosewhowish towork in
your industry?
Airline industry exists in an intensely
competitive market and has its unprec-
edented safety concerns. HR’s manpower
selection to carefully choose the most
talented employees is tough, especially on
sourcing for pilots and cabin crew. As job
opportunities have become increasingly
scarce in the airline company, job seek-
ers should always be passionate about
everything they want to do and never
give up on trying.
Haveyou travelled to anyFirefly
destinations?Do sharewithus oneof
yourmemorable travel experienceeither
with friends or family.
Penang is one of my favourites as Firefly
has the most daily flight frequencies
among others which makes planning for
travelling back home easier even for a
” day trip”. I also had some of the most
memorable moments on my trip to Koh
Samui and Kota Kinabalu.
What sort of skills andknowledge is needed for your
position?
Knowledge and expertise in all aspects of human
resource management are crucial. One also needs to
be a leader who has business acumen, exceptional
interpersonal skills and good problem solving skills. A
keen sense of ethics is a must.
Whatwereyoudoingprior tobeingappointed aHuman
ResourceManager?
I first joined Firefly as a Flight Operations Executive
but my passion for people has brought me back to the
HR field. Prior to my promotion to Human Resource
Manager, I worked as a
Senior Executive.

role?
My job with banking op-
erations was an excellent
experience as that was
where I developed my
people handling skills.
What is a typical day for a
HumanResourceManager
likeyou?
I start my day with han-
dling end-to end HR jobs.
Sometimes I am required
to be away for duty travel
for HR matters. I provide
guidance and advice to the
team in regards to work as
