Confessions On The Dance Floor
Listen to: Hung Up, Isaac and Jump
Confessions
showcased a different side of
Madonna with perfectly produced songs
made out of disco beats and Abba samples
It is a non-stop dance music fest with 12
hit tunes perfectly blended together into a
56-minute disco throwback that takes us
back to the glory of the Seventies.
Erotica
Listen to: Deeper and Deeper, Erotica
and Secret Garden
Back in the early nineties, Madonna went
through her experimental phase with
Erotica
, which mostly circles around the
topics of sex and romance. The concept
album was released simultaneously with
her coffee table book entitled Sex. The
controversy surrounding the release of the
book overshadowed the album, which on
its own, is a slickly produced gem.
Ray of Light
Listen to: Frozen, Sky Fits Heaven and Ray of Light
Released after the birth of her first child, Madonna revealed her
spiritual side with the release of
Ray of Light
. One of her most criti-
cally acclaimed works to date, the album blends electronica, dance
and ethnic influence seamlessly with the help of music producer
extraordinaire William Orbit. The album earned her four Grammy
awards in 1998.
Music
Listen to: Music, Don’t Tell Me and
Paradise (Not for Me)
This was her eighth record, released
in 2000, after the huge success of
Ray
of Light.
Madonna decided to keep
the influence of electronica in most of
the songs by adding a retro seventies
vibe courtesy of French DJ Mirwais
Ahmadzai. The result is a hit record
of dance anthem with European dance
music vibes.
True Blue
Listen to: Papa Don’t
Preach, Live to Tell and
La Isla Bonita
True Blue
is the second of
Madonna’s albums that
was highly praised for the
hit singles it produced. She
was at the height of her ca-
reer and married to actor
Sean Penn. It showcased a
more grown up approach
to her music
