Handicraft Village and Museum
FOR
the lover of arts and crafts, this is definitely a must-see.
Home to the local artisans and handicrafts in Kelantan, the
village is better known as Balai Getam Guri in local dialect.
Here is where you witness the process that goes into the
making of the beautiful crafts. Some of the demonstrations
include traditional embroidery, songket weaving and batik
drawing which are skilfully done by local artists. You can
even pick up souvenirs from the attached gift shop.
Gelanggang Seni – the Cultural Centre
FOR
the real Malaysian and Kelantanese experience,
pop over to the cultural centre located just opposite
the State Stadium. Here is where you can see all the
action of traditional arts, games and performances.
Pick up an event schedule from your hotel and
watch top-spinning competitions,
silat
(Malay
martial arts), kite-making, Malay drumming,
wayang kulit
(shadow-puppetry) and so much more.
Pantai Cahaya Bulan
TAKE
the day off from sightseeing and enjoy a relaxing day
at the beach. Pantai Cahaya Bulan is the best spot in town to
unwind with friends and family. If the weather is kind, take
along a picnic basket and mat and enjoy your lunch with
your toes in the sand. There are kite sellers along the beach
for some post lunch fun.
