Songkran celebrations are said to be
the grandest in Thailand; a mix of tradi-
tion and fun, recognised globally for the
annual water fight it brings to the nation’s
streets and at Samujana it is no different.
Songkranwill begin at 11:30amwith aThai
long drum parade that will lead guests
from their villas down to the Big Lawn,
where they will be welcomed with flower
garlands anda traditional Buddhablessing
ceremony. All guests will be armed with
water pistols and the lawn will erupt into
a playground for adults and children alike.
Water balloon fights, water slides, games,
food, music and even the Samujana circus
school will ensure everyone is completely
soaked,withashaded ‘nowater’ zonewith
cushionsandpicnicrugstorelaxbeforethe
next round of splashing.
The Samujana celebrations will run
until 4pm and guests can then be driven
to Chaweng to continue with the island’s

Urbanscapes 2016 returns with city-
wide festivities!
Returning for its 14th year,
Urbanscapes 2016
will be
reimagined into a two week-long, city-wide creative arts
celebration between April 23 and May 8. The festival has
just announcedadditions to theirKLLive lineup, includinga
musicshowcasebyEnglishdrumandbassband
Rudimental
together with Malaysian indie alternative rock bands
Hujan
and
Bittersweet
. The KL Live lineup also includes
the recently announced
Tame Impala
on April 23 and
M83
onMay 7.
Urbanscapes 2016
will bring the best creative arts
programming that it is known for, including a diverse
programme of music experiences. The Bee Publika will
play host to several intimate Urbanscapes gigs including
homegrown rapper
JinHackman’s
collaborationwith JUICE
Malaysia to present
The Night Before Tomorrow
(NB4T).
Theheartof
Urbanscapes
will pulseat thehistoricsquare
MedanPasar,whichwill beturned intoUrbanscapesHouse.
Occupying five floors, it will host three weekends of art
festivities along with thematic markets that explore the
themes of urban culture, arts and crafts and fashion retail.
The festival will concludewithahigh-energyclosingstreet
