WANDER
The streets of Bangsar Baru, Kuala
Lumpur are filledwith shops that see to
most needs. Be it food or clothes, there
are ample choices. One of themore
amazing things about this area is how
quickly things chop and change. Reuben

afternoon and the streets of Bangsar
were slowly getting crowded. It was a long
weekend and people were taking their time
leaving their houses. I decided to get some
food before the restaurants got too crowded.
Different cuisine
Finding food around here is never a problem. From coffee
shops to higher end restaurants. there is something to
tantalise all taste buds. I made my way to one of my favourite
places, Devi’s Corner. Devi’s has been around for years and
is a veritable institution in Bangsar. Many a late night was
spent there with my friends over mugs of
teh tarik
(literally
tea that has been ‘pulled’) and
roti canai
(Indian bread eaten
with curry). The downstairs features a hot buffet of different
curries while the upstairs section is dedicated fully to serving
banana leaf meals.
There are two great places to head to if you are in the mood
for tapas. La Bodega and El Meson. A chef was cooking up
fresh paella outside the outlet as I walked past La Bodega
and the smell was heavenly. He tried to entice me to go in
but I had to say no as I was stuffed.
If you ever need anything in the the way of stationery,
CzipLee Books & Stationery is the place to head to. They
have everything that you need there, from high end pens to
files and notebooks. You may walk in there wanting just one
thing but do not be surprised if you find you have purchased
more than that one particular item by the time you leave.
