Friday night, the
best place to be to shed
yourself of the week that
you have just had is at
Changkat Bukit Bintang.
Known simply amongst
local party-goers as
‘Changkat’, the area is located perpen-
dicular to Bintang Walk and
Jalan Alor
. It
boasts pre-war, colonial buildings which
have been refurbished into upmarket
restaurants and pubs, serving upWestern
cuisine, as well as being home to some of
Kuala Lumpur’s hippest and happening
party venues.
The long stretch of clubs and pubs
of Changkat offer a variety of nightlife
options, from live bands to Spanish bars
and hipster joints. Still not too sure which
one of these to call your ‘new home’?
Fireflyz wandered the strip and these are
some of our favourites.
Havana Bar & Grill
Located at the far end of the street, Havana
is all about its Latin America spirit. The
open bar downstairs is the best spot to
just chill and relax with friends, drinking
the night away with good conversation.
The area downstairs is dominated by
retro music, bringing back all the fondest
nostalgia of the yesteryears with selections
ranging fromMadonna to Tears For Fears.
Upstairs is where the party takes place in
full swing with the crowd consisting of
locals and expats dancing to the energetic
salsa beats.
Pisco Bar
Pisco Bar is known for its crowd of young
and trendy expats and tourists. Of course
the bar is also crowded with locals,
but they are mostly the ultra-hip and
