is served with homemade sweet potato chips. I was very surprised at how ‘meaty’
this burger tasted. An excellent and different creation.
Next out was the
Foie Gras Burger
. This is one of the more expensive burgers
that is on the menu, but trust me, it is worth every ringgit. Pan seared
foie gras
is smothered over a juicy beef patty with balsamic palm sugar gaze and slices of
portobello mushroom. Served with a side of homemade onion-cranberry jam,
this decadent burger has it all. The flavour of the
foie gras
combines
beautifully with the beef patty and mushrooms, with the jam by
the side an added flavour element.
Last, and far from least, was the
Chicken Shish Taouk
.
If that sounds Middle Eastern to you, well, you would
not be wrong. Taking inspiration from the Middle
East, this burger features a chicken fillet that
has been marinated in yoghurt and grilled
tomatoes, topped with onions, tomatoes and
a zingy garlic sauce. Delicious.
All the burgers are served with a choice
of a salad, sweet potato chips or fries.
In The End …
Forget about that diet you are on and
have a blow-out with the desserts here. A
fairly recent addition to the dessert menu
is the
Key Lime Pie in a Jar.
This is a very

refreshing dessert with dollops of cream
cheese and lime … presented in a jar.
Top points for flavour and presentation.
The second dessert that was served,
to me, was hands down, the winner
between the two. Amusingly called
TDG
Coco Goes Nuts
, this stunning creation
is made up of layered coconut cookie
crumbs, chocolate sauce, marshmallow,
peanut butter and topped with a scoop
of vanilla ice-cream. Dense, this is one to
share. People eat with their eyes before
anything else, and this one really is a
feast for your sight. No matter how full
you are, you cannot leave here without
trying this dessert.
The Daily Grind is a chilled restau-
rant that serves great food. There is a
separate bar area if you just wanted
to have a few drinks and a chat and
the service is friendly and top-notch.
Give them a try the next time you are
in Bangsar.
