The artist thinks that Malaysians have
an innate talent in the creative arenas of
various crafts to art. “More can be done
to encourage up and coming talents, for
instance by having local craft cumart
markets so that those starting out can
have a platformto start. This actually will
spur the newgeneration to be inspired,”
says Yun.
With hopes to break into the interna-
tional fashion arena one day soon, Yun is

Jewellerymaking features prominently
with him, fromsimple beadingwhich
anyone can attempt tomore complicated
items which require specialised skills.
Everyone can learn the proper technique
but it takes some time before one can fully
master them. Yunworks predominantly
in silver as he finds the soft patina of silver
fascinating and alluring.
Each of his designs are painstakingly
sculpted in jewellers wax and then casted
out in sterling silver and/or gold. The
casted pieces are then hand finished and
polished to reflect their beauty.
