Getaway
Eat,
Sleep,
Beach,
Repeat.
If you have ever dreamt of getting on a plane and disappearing somewhere beautiful for a
few days, this is the place for you. Sink your feet in the soft warm sands while you kick back
with a cocktail in hand and laze the day away on the beautiful island of Boracay.
I
t
may be a small island in the
Philippines, but it sure has plenty
to offer and something to suit
every kind of traveller. Boracay’s
3.5km longWhite Beach is divided
into three stations. There are no clear
markings dividing the strip of beach but
each station has its very own distinct
personality.
Station 1 is where the higher end
boutiques, hotels, and restaurants -which
cater to amore exclusive crowd - are
located. Just a little further down the
beach, youwill find Station 2where the
party animals are alongside clubs that get
pretty loud and crowded at night. Station
3, on the other hand, is known as the “old”
Boracay -where things are quieter and
less developed. This part of the island is
more suitable for backpackers who do not
mind cheaper resorts.

What is a thrill seeker supposed to do in
Boracay? Head to Ariel’s Point of course.
If you do summon the courage to
wander out on the highest plank,
youwill not be alone. It is quite
common for other divers to gather
and cheer on scared first timers.

A half hour away by boat fromBoracay’s
sandy white beaches lies the famous
Ariel’s Point. Right in the centre of the
ocean, lo and behold, the perfect cliff
diving spot for all you adrenaline junkies
out there. Take your pick fromdiving
planks of different heights ranging from
3mto the highest andmost popular 15m
board. That is about 50 feet!
If you do summon the courage to
wander out on the highest plank, youwill
not be alone. It is quite common for other
divers to gather and cheer on scared first
timers. There is just something about
being on an island, in themiddle of the
ocean, with tons of strangers fromall
over theworld cheering you on that will
make you glad you did the unthinkable
and dove off that 15mboard into the deep
blue sea.
After you get that brave diving shot for
Facebook and Instagram, it will probably
be time to get some grub. There is a
barbecue buffet and bottomless local
beers to be enjoyed before your next dive.
Usually, travellers buy into a package
which includes transport to Ariel’s Point,
