nah Al Rashid
is best known
as the host for
Life Inspired and Koper dan Ransel, VJ for
MTV Indonesia, a model and an actress.
However, Hannah tells us about another
passion of hers that most might not know
of – being a martial artist. Growing up

around martial arts – her father is the
president of the Pencak Silat Federation of
the United Kingdomand Europe – Hannah
started training seriously at the age of 16
years old and has gone on to represent the
United Kingdom at various
pencak silat
championships across the world.
Could you tell us more about the type of
martial art you specialise in?
My school of
silat
is called Gerak Ilham
and it is a Bugis style of
silat
originating
from South Sulawesi. I learnt a lot about
the traditional aspects of the martial art,
but in the end I specialised more in the
sports aspect and focused on training for
championships, which is very different.
Is being a martial artist hard, especially
because of your reputation as a model?
I only started to work in the modelling
industry after I had left London and as a
result, I stopped being an athlete because
I was constantly bruised and injured. I
