I
t’s
not easy tomiss the brand new Four Points by Sheraton
Penang that used to be the old Tanjung Bungah Beach
Hotel, making its location one of the best attributes of the
hotel. Visitors usually travel to Penang for its beaches,
historic area, shopping and of course, food. The hotel
is conveniently located where it’s accessible to all these
activities, making it a definite plus point.
Situated on a secluded beachfront in Tanjung Bungah, the
hotel is smack right in the middle between all the excitement and
buzz of the lively town on one side and the idyllic and peaceful
beaches of Batu Feringghi on the other. For food enthusiasts, the
famous Gurney Drive with its abundance of hawker delights is
just a short five-minute drive, not forgetting to mention the wide
variety of international and local eateries that can be found all
around the vicinity.
Upon arrival, I stepped into the expansive, breezy, open-air
lobby and was served a complimentary glass of guava juice
while waiting for my keycard to a Deluxe Oceanfront Room.
The moment I opened the door to my room, I was blown away

by the spectacular view of the Straits of Malacca, delighted that
this was a view I would wake up to in the morning. The best part
of the room (besides the magnificent view) was the Four Points
Signature Bed comprising of a plush mattress, down pillows, a
cozy duvet and crisp 250-threadcount sheets that I couldn’t wait
to plunk myself on.
There was also an LED flat screen television for me to catch up
onmy favourite shows while snuggling in the comfy bed. Despite
being situated right next to the busy road, I had no worries about
getting a good night’s rest as the windows are double glazed,
which helps to block out all the noise outside. After a tiring, long
drive to Penang, I decided to dine in the hotel for dinner before
calling it a night so I headed over to The Eatery, the hotel’s all-day
dining restaurant.
The restaurant’s menu was extensive, with generous portions
and food that was, in all honesty, absolutely delicious. As there
was just too many signature dishes to choose from, I decided to
order a few dishes and try a little of each. I went with the huge
