usual to clock in some time on the tread-
mill before breakfast. As I worked up a
sweat in the well-equipped facility at the
fitness centre, I was so tempted to continue
with a few laps in the pool outside. And so
I did! But if exertion is not on your agenda,
the Damai Spa that’s connected to the
fitness centre promises out-of-this-world
pampering that will dissipate all worries.
At the end of the day, I would say that
there’s no other place I would rather stay
when I need a quick getaway across the
causeway. And I definitely will be going
back to the grandness that is the Grand
Hyatt Singapore soon.

The poolside restaurant, Oasis, features
a delicious BBQ dinner with an open bar
while Pete’s Place specialises in authentic
Italian cuisine from homemade pastas to
wood-fired oven pizzas. 
I had my dinner at mezza9, which
is located on the mezzanine floor. The
restaurant offers not one, but nine different
dining experiences to savour. Here, I was
able to choose to sit in any area and still
order from all the show kitchens around
me – from deli, yakitori grill and sushi-
sashimi bar to the grill, steam basket, the
patisserie and the martini bar. 
After dining at the mezza9, I made
my way to the martini bar at mezza9 for
cocktails, but one can also choose to go
to BRIX for live band performances and
party the night away.
The fact that the GrandHyatt Singapore
is located in the heart of town means that
there is also plenty to do just beyond its
doorstep. Shopping is one of them. Besides
Scotts Square, Tangs Orchard, IONOrchard
and DFS at the T Galleria that are just a
stone’s throw away, the Orchard MRT
station is just a five-minute walk from
the hotel, giving me access to other major
malls in the lion city.
