Sixty three
cadet pilots and cabin crew members of
Malaysia Airlines and Fireflywere in a graduation ceremony
which was held at Malaysia Airlines Academy on April 1,
2015. Certificates were given away to 22 cadet pilots, 29
Malaysia Airlines cabin crew feted members and 13 Firefly
cabin staff.
Malaysia Airlines’ Group CEO, Ahmad Jauhari Yahya
gave a few words of advice in his opening speech to the
graduates, “Be professional in your job. Keep learning and
expanding your knowledge.”
Among other guests of honorwho attended the ceremony
were CEO Firefly, Mr Ignatius Ong, Director of Operations,
Captain Izham Ismail, Director of Human Resources, Puan
Zahrah Zaid, Head of In-flight Services, PuanHayati DatoAli
andHead of Flight Operations, CaptainKamaruddinKamilin.
After
the success of last year’s
‘Syiok Sendiri! A Very Merry
Malaysian Christmas!’
, the Syiok Sendiri crew is back withmore.
The sequel, simply titled
‘Syiok Sendiri! A Very Syiok Sendiri
Sequel!’
promises to be bigger and badder. The sketch-based
comedy-variety performance touches on the many aspects
of Malaysian life while pushing the envelope ever so gently.
“Since the show really is a ‘syiok sendiri’ project, the audience
should not be expecting to take home any sort of message. Just
come, laugh, and have fun!” said Producer and Director John
S. de Silva.
The show will feature local talents Grayden Goon, Kanchana
Mala, Isabelle Oon, Muha Mesri, Matthew Huan, Samuel Low,
and Lalitha. John S. de Silva’s previous productions include
‘News
for You: Termination of the Teenage Population’
, ‘Id’, ‘British
Invasion’, and
‘Dasha Logan: Stripped’
amongst others. Firefly
Airlines is also back as a supporter of the production. Passengers
with boarding passes for May – June 2015 period get to purchase
tickets to the show at the concession rate of RM27 per ticket.

5-7 June @ 8:30 P.M. & 6-7 December @ 3:00 P.M.
Firefly
will increase its weekly frequencies on the Penang –
Kota Bharu route to meet passenger demands. The additional
frequencies, from May 1 to Oct 24, 2015 will be offered twice
daily. With these additional flights, the total number of weekly
frequencies between Penang and Kota Bharu will increase from
7 to 14 and result in an increase of weekly seats on this route
from 1,008 to 2,448.
