the people are gorgeous and transportation costs barely anything.
Eastern Europe has all the charm and beauty of the west, minus
the crazy expensive price tags. And no, these countries aren’t
the bomb-destroyed, impoverished ex-communist countries
you’re thinking of.
Thailand
The go-to spot for budget travellers. Yes, there is the seedy side
to Thailand with its sex-tourismbut there’s more to this beautiful
country than just that. This country is the heart of backpacking
in Southeast Asia, housing loads of cheap guesthouses, street
stalls, local buses and attractions. Between the hustle of the
city, is a rural land with a mix of paddy fields, wooden villages
and the friendly smiles from the Thai people. Exotic, tropical
and extremely friendly, you can’t go wrong with a cheap trip
to Thailand.
Australia
Australia, is not a cheap place to travel in the normal sense but it
is quite affordable thanks to a lot of work exchange opportunities.
You can hop right off a plane and into a coffee shop and fund
your backpacking trip through the outskirts of this humongous
country. There are plenty of budget travelling trails, cheap
groceries and gracious hosts ever ready to help a needy traveller.
And who doesn’t love those fluffy, adorable Koala bears?
FIJI
Who would have imagined that any Pacific Island destination
would ever be affordable, especially Fiji, no thanks to the US$6
bottles of Fiji Water. However, stop by on the Yasawa Islands
and you’ll be thoroughly surprised. Pristine blue waters, lush
trees, views so beautiful that you’ll be lost for words. There
are 15 words in the Fijian language that mean Heaven and it
is no surprise that Yasawa is the first word in the dictionary.
A remote, unspoiled island with plenty of cheap guesthouses,
transportation and water activities.
India
First off, India has very favourable exchange rates. So expect
to live like a king by spending barely any money. India is
obviously very rich in culture, extremely colourful and just an
overall amazing place to travel. The country bristles with a mix
of landscape and economic irony. But no matter what, your
journey through this spicy city will never fade from memory.
The beautiful Taj Mahal, the enormous palaces, the delicious
food, the bright colours, the country offers attractions that are
just never ending.

Surprisingly not an expensive place to travel when you’re not
sipping on Prosecco and munching on caviar all day long.
Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania andMoldova all account for some of
