Health
Some common symptoms
of brain tumors include
a continuous headache,
especially in the morning,
which gets even worse
when the neck is in a
bending position or when
one is coughing. The severe
headache is followed by
vomiting and blurry vision.

ary brain tumor. Primary brain tumor originates
from brain tissue, glands or membranes while
secondary brain tumor originates from other
parts of body before spreading up to the brain.
There is encouraging news though. A brain
tumor can be treated if it is still in its early stage.
Usually, the main treatment method is surgery,
but there are other treatments that may help.To-
day, with advancements in medical technology,
treatments like microsurgery, neuroendoscopy
and Image Guided Surgery make brain surgery
safer and even more effective.
There are also other types of treatments that
support the brain surgery such as radiotherapy,
chemotherapy, immunotherapy and rehabilita-
tion, a crucial step for patients in the process
of recovery.
In certain cases and types of brain tumor,
these supporting treatments can also be used
as the main treatment. Radiation therapy or
radiotherapy for instance, usually helps in earlier
stages. There are also patients that require
combinations of different therapies or possibly
all of the treatments mentioned earlier.
A big factor in the success of treatments
is the physical condition of the patient along
with the grade of brain tumor at the time of
that diagnosis.

ment - increase the chances of full recovery
and survival.
of Neurofibromatosis, Von –Hippel Lindau, Tuberous sclerosis
and Turcot syndrome.
Overexposure to radiation from x-rays or gamma rays used
in medical procedures can lead to the mutation of brain cells
which then turn into cancerous tissue. Age is another known
factor as cancer risk increases along with age.
Those who are obese or with bad eating habits and hardly
participate in any physical activities are also at high risk of
getting a brain tumor. Aside from that, medicine such as birth
control and hormonal pills for menopausal women are highly
related to meningioma brain tumor.
The Treatments
Brain tumor or cancer is generally any form of abnormal tissue
that grows inside the brain or its surrounding tissues. There are
two types of growth; one is malignant which is cancerous and
the other benign, which is non-cancerous. The disease can be
classified into two categories; primary brain tumor and second-
