Durian Milkshake
Located in the centre of Jonker Street,
Limau Limau
is
a little pre-war shop that has its own character with its
different assortment of chandeliers hanging from a low
ceiling. Clearly, this place can be your getaway from the
hustle and bustle of the busy street. The place is famous
for its fresh juices and coffee, but my favourite is the
Durian Milkshake
. You can taste the creaminess and
the sweetness of pure durian with each mouthful. Served
chilled, Limau Limau uses actual durians in its milkshake,
rather than the artificial flavouring that you would get
from commercialised durian ice-cream. Be warned,
however, that this drink is not for the faint-hearted!

Nyonya Laksa
Known as one of the pride in nyonya dishes,
the
Nyonya Laksa at Donald and Lily’s
Nyonya Food
is definitely the real thing. From
its aromatic rich
lemak
gravy that’s infused
with just the right amount of
galangal
and
lemongrass to the sweet and spicy
sambal
that accompanies this dish to give it the right
kick, Uncle Donald and Aunty Lily’s
nyonya
laksa
is a good example of a dish that is cooked
with love and sincerity. Each spoonful is a
resemblance of the rich and meticulous
Baba
Nyonya
culture.
