What They Do

Arm Weakness Ara Damansara Medical Centre’s (ADMC) Stroke Care Services provides
an integrated and holistic approach towards the management of stroke.

There is a stroke protocol, which our 24 hour emergency team will
activate as soon as a suspected patient is brought into the Emergency
Department (ER).
Speech Difficulty
The neuro-medical, neuro-surgical, neuro-interventional, neuro-intensive
care and neuro-rehab teams are supported by skilled nurses and
physiotherapists. These teams work in unison to provide either a single
team management or a combination of therapies, all tailored to suit the
needs of the diagnosis.
Time To Act
The teams are supported by neuro-imaging equipment - including dual
source flash CT and 3T MRI - capable of studying the brain perfusion.
This added information is very useful to effectively plan the management
of stroke. This is further enhanced with a neuro vascular interventional
radiology (VIR) system that is dedicated to the management of the blood
vessels in the brain.

The VIR enables us to provide minimally invasive treatment, under the
capable hands of our neuro and endo vascular surgeons. ADMC has a
fully equipped neuro-operating theatre with intraoperative fluorescence
angiography.

The medical centre’s stroke protocols place strong emphasis on
early rehabilitation to provide comprehensive care towards the patient’s
recovery. Under the guidance of Rehabilitation Physicians, our stroke care
physiotherapists may be able help the patient relearn skills as soon as
possible, which could aid in faster recovery.
